Car Servicing in Ealing

Regular servicing is the best way to keep your car safe, reliable and running efficiently. At Auto Workshop, established in 1978, we've provided car servicing in Ealing from our garage on Elers Road, just off Northfields Avenue, since 1995. We service all makes and models, and we have specialist knowledge of Audi, Volkswagen, SEAT and Skoda. You get dealer-level care without the dealer-level bill.

Which Car Service Do You Need?

Every car is different, so we'll recommend the right service based on your mileage, age and manufacturer's schedule.

Manufacturer schedule servicing. We follow the service schedule set out by your car’s manufacturer, including variable or “long-life” intervals on many VW Group cars.  These services are usually recommended as follows:

  • Interim/Oil service. This is an annual service and includes oil and filter change, top-up levels and essential safety checks.
  • Oil/Inspection service. This is recommended every 2 years.  It is a more thorough inspection and includes additional filters and checks.

  • Major service. This is usually carried out every second inspection service i.e. every 4 years.  It covers everything in the Oil/Inspection service, plus items such as spark plugs, brake fluid and fuel filters where due.

What's Included in a Service?

Exactly what's included depends on the service level, but a typical service with us covers:

An engine oil and oil filter change

OE quality parts ensure you maintain your manufacturer's warranty

Vehicle inspection

Such as brake wear, suspension components & tyre condition

Checking and topping up fluids

E.g. coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid and screenwash

Other elements

Depending on the age and mileage, items like the pollen filter, air filter, and brake fluid may require replacing.

We'll talk you through anything we find, with honest advice and a clear quote before any extra work is done. Your service book or digital service record is updated, so your car's history stays complete.

Keep Your Manufacturer's Warranty Without the Main Dealer

Many drivers think they need to go to a main dealer to keep their warranty valid. You don't. UK competition rules mean an independent garage can service your car during the warranty period, as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts of matching quality.

We only use genuine OE parts or parts of equivalent quality. We also have advanced diagnostic equipment and access to manufacturer technical data. That's how drivers from West Ealing, Hanwell and Acton get main-dealer standards at a more cost-effective price.

Servicing and MOT

Servicing and the MOT do different jobs. The MOT checks that your car meets minimum legal safety standards on the day. A service looks after the health of your car, catching wear early and helping to avoid bigger repair bills later. Many of our customers book both together to save a trip, and our on-site MOT bay makes that easy.

If a warning light has come on, our car diagnostics service will find the cause. We also service electric and hybrid vehicles.

Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Servicing

Electric and hybrid cars still need regular servicing, even without an oil change. Their extra weight means tyres and suspension can wear faster, and because regenerative braking means the brakes are used less, discs and pads can corrode. We check all of this, along with the cabin filter, coolant, 12V battery and the other items on your manufacturer's schedule. Find out more about our electric and hybrid vehicle servicing.

How often should my car be serviced?

Most cars need a full service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. If you cover a lot of miles, an interim service every 6 months or 6,000 miles helps keep your car in top condition. Many modern cars also have their own manufacturer schedule, which we'll follow.

What's the difference between an interim, full and major service?

An interim service covers the essentials, including an oil and filter change and key safety checks. A full service is more thorough, with extra filters and a wider inspection. A major service includes everything in a full service, plus longer-interval items such as spark plugs, brake fluid and fuel filters where they're due.

Will servicing at an independent garage affect my manufacturer's warranty?

No. As long as your car is serviced to the manufacturer's schedule using parts of matching quality, your warranty stays valid. At Auto Workshop, we follow manufacturer schedules and only use genuine OE or equivalent-quality parts.

Will you stamp my service book?

Yes. We'll update your service book or digital service record after every service, so your car's history stays complete. A full service history also helps your car hold its value when you come to sell it.

How long does a car service take?

Most services are completed within the day. Interim services are quicker, while major services take a little longer. We'll give you an idea of timings when you book.

Can I have my car serviced and MOT'd at the same time?

Yes. With our own on-site MOT bay in Ealing, we can carry out your service and MOT in a single visit, saving you time and an extra trip.

Do you service electric and hybrid cars?

Yes. Electric and hybrid vehicles still need regular servicing, including checks on brakes, tyres, suspension, the cabin filter, coolant and the 12V battery. We service EVs and hybrids as well as petrol and diesel cars.

Do you only service Audi, VW, SEAT and Skoda?

No. We specialise in Volkswagen Group vehicles, but we service all makes and models.
